The Trials of Apollo

I just finished this book last week and I loved it! It has all the charm as the Percy Jackson books and had me captivated. It is about Apollo, after the war with Gaea and the giants, who has been turned mortal by Zeus because of Octavian. He gets sentenced to serve an annoying little girl named Meg, and sent to Camp Half-Blood. There, he gets put into the Apollo cabin, or, as he calls it, "the Me Cabin," and develops a relationship with his children. Then campers start to dissapear and it's up to Apollo and Meg to save them. It turns out there is an ancient oracle in the woods which may be the camp's only source of prophecy that is not blocked by Python and "the Beast" Emperor Nero. It is super good. I would reccomend it for anyone who likes the Percy Jackson books, or the Kane Chronicles. I would rate it 9 out of 10 cucumbers.

Hexed

This book is the first in a series, and isn't the best thing I've ever read but was pretty good and I want to read the sequel. It is about a high school girl named Indigo, or Indy, who is super popular, second only to her best friend Bianca, or who she thought was her best friend. She has a good life, she's on the cheerleading squad, she has the coolest guy in school as her boyfriend, she is pretty much perfect. She is pestered by her next-door neighbor, Paige to be friends. But then one day, she sees a guy die right before her eyes, and her whole life changes. She gets hunted by an organization of sorcerors called the Priory, she finds out that she is a witch, and she meets a wicked hot warlock named Bishop. They go on a quest to try and find her moms bible, which turns out to be a witch hunter's bible which her family has sworn to protect, she becomes best friends with Paige. It is pretty good, and has lots of action, but there is some boring parts. I would reccomend for people who like thought-provoking books with lots of thinking but also has action. Probably would be fine for people who don't like violence. I would rate it 5 out of 10 cucumbers.
